I’m a Mormon

Invest in Faith, Invest in Life, Invest in Time

Investing is defined as devoting time, energy, and/or money into a project to hopefully receive a worthwhile result. We only have so much time and there is so much to juggle in that limited time that you have to prioritize. For me: first comes God. So its only fitting that my first post be about my faith.

Most people have met Mormons or heard about Mormons. Everyone’s experiences vary. Here, I am briefly explaining it what Mormonism means to me.

There are a few things I want to point out that “I’m a Mormon” does not mean:

I’m not judgmental about personal beliefs. I choose to be a Mormon and to live the life that that entails. Other people choose different lives. That’s not a big deal to me. I choose to be a Mormon because it makes me happy. I share that I am Mormon because… it makes me happy!  And why not share the things you love?

I’m not a know-it-all. I learn new things about the gospel that I choose to live daily. I’m constantly learning about myself, my purpose, and my family. I am an imperfect person learning a perfect truth. Many people grab on to an experience and associate it with our religion. I don’t care for almonds, but that doesn’t mean Mormons don’t eat almonds. I make mistakes every day, that doesn’t mean the Church is flawed- it means I am.

I’m definitely not perfect. Not even close. But that’s why I believe in this Gospel. I make mistakes everyday, and I know I will continue to do so. So, while I am happy to share personal stories of how the gospel has changed my life, Mormon.org  is the best place to seek answers for specific LDS gospel questions.

What “I’m a Mormon” does mean:

It means I’m a Latter-day Saint. Like I said, I’m not perfect. It simply means that I try. Every day I try to be a better wife, a better daughter, a better Christian, a better Human Being. Being a Mormon is based on the concept of personal development and improvement.Apr2015.GCQuotes.Renlund2

It means I’m a Christian. Being a Mormon means I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Here are free printables of my favorite quotes from the 185th General Conference held for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this weekend:
